A Bed & Breakfast at Llewellyn Lodge

A Bed & Breakfast at Llewellyn Lodge
website | map it | (540) 463-3235 | 603 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia

We have reviewed seemingly 1000s of Bed & Breakfasts for inclusion in our directory. One of the key elements that we look for is not only whether fishing is listed as an activity but also whether it is featured as more than just a casual mention. We hold to this because we have heard of too many experiences where fishing travelers have booked a B&B only to feel a bit out of place when making fishing the center of their trip. This is not a concern at A Bed & Breakfast at Llewellyn Lodge. Not only do they welcome fishing visitors but they actively promote the fishing opportunities when staying there. Your fishing and stay are going to be based out of Lexington, Virginia, which is in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. This area is rich with fly fishing tradition. So, thank you A Bed & Breakfast at Llewellyn Lodge. Thank you for promoting the sport of fishing and being an option for the fisherman or fisherwoman looking for that Bed & Breakfast feeling on their next fishing trip.

Whichever of these you prefer, check out Hatchmatcher Guide Service out of Scottsville, Virginia. If you can't decide between the two, you can always book multiple days with Hatchmatcher to get the full experience. Hatchmatcher Guide Service is owned by L.E. Rhodes Jr. He is based on the banks of the James River and has been fishing this area for over 45 years and has been professionally guiding since 1999. While I mentioned the smallmouth bass, which they fish for on the James River and Shenandoah River, and the trout, which they fish for in the Blue Ridge Mountains, I should mention that they also fish for carp, muskie and gar. Guide service is available all year round. So regardless of the time of year, check out Hatchmatcher Guide Service to experience the greatness of Central Virginia fishing.

Ken Penrod's Life Outdoors Unlimited

Ken Penrod's Life Outdoors Unlimited
website | map it | (240) 447-2206 | Beltsville, Maryland

There may not be a name more synonymous with Mid-Atlantic fishing than Ken Penrod. This reputation only comes with a long history of providing quality guide services in some of this area's best fishing spots. Ken Penrod's Life Outdoors Unlimited has been a long standing fishing guide service in the Mid-Atlantic. While the service is operated by Ken Penrod, he uses many guides to cover the areas of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and District of Columbia. Waters that they fish include Susquehanna River, Potomac River, Chesapeake Bay, Deep Creek Lake, Sassafras River, Choptank River, Nanticoke River, Wicomico River, and Pocomoke River. They fish primarily for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. There is a ton of information on his web site including regularly updated fishing reports. I have been following these reports for years. Ken has also published a book call Pursuing River Smallmouth which should be considered a must read. I could go on a long time about their fishing reputation in this area but look for yourself and I am confident you will be impressed.
