Fishing In Rhode Island

Rhode Island is mostly known for its saltwater fishing including some absolutely amazing Striped Bass fishing. Rhoe Island, though, should not be ignored for reshwater fishing as it has some solid options for a variety of species. Trout, salmon and bass are all possibilities when coming to fish in Rhode Island. Wyoming Pond, Wallum Lake and Pawcatuck River have all produced State record setting Brook, Brown and Rainbow Trout. Salmon fishing spots to consider are Barber Pond, Beach Pond, Shetucket River, and Naugatuck River. Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass waters include Indian Lake, Wallum Pond, Watchaug Pond, Johnsons Pond and Wilson Reservoir. These are just a sampling of the places to wet a line when you are in this small New England State.

The picture of a very nice Rhode Island Largemouth Bass is provided by Sullivan Brownhill or @scibz401 on Instagram. Check out his photos to follow his Rhode Island fishing success.

Night Owl Charters

Rhode Island doesn't have a ton of professional freshwater fishing guides, especially given that there are some really good spots to fish in this New England State. That is why we are very excited to include Night Owl Charters in our juried directory. Night Owl Charters is a freshwater bass fishing guide service located in Bradford, Rhode Island. Curt Snow, your guide, fishes Rhode Island waters as well as also does trips in southeastern Connecticut. Curt is a local freshwater tournament bass angler, which gives him a lot of knowledge of these waters. Curt not only provides the traditional day trips but he will also do night fishing trips with you if that is what you would like to try. He fishes Amos Lake, Billings Lake, Gardner Lake and Gorton Pond in Connecticut. He fishes Watchaug Pond, Indian Lake, Locustville Pond and Wordens Pond in Rhode Island. You may not have thought about fishing in Rhode Island before but after checking out Night Owl Charters we bet you will be intrigued.
