Upper Oxbow Outdoor Adventures
When discussing New Brunswick fishing, the Miramichi River can't come up enough in the conversation. Offshoots of the main river like the Little Southwest Miramichi provide a lot of the same fishing opportunities that the main river does. The banks of the Little Southwest Miramichi is where you will find Upper Oxbow Outdoor Adventures. Their location also allows for fishing the Northwest Miramichi. The Blackmore family who owns Upper Oxbow Outdoor Adventures has a few years of experience, since 1823 actually. We've never been great at math but we think they may have an idea what they are doing after all these years. The featured fish here is the Atlantic Salmon. But striped bass are also a great option when they are running. You can pick from a few different packages. Their main angling package comes with your lodging; meals; professional guide service; fishing boat, motor and gas when required; and transportation to and from your fishing spot. They offer a variety of accommodation styles including their resort style lodge with bedroom suites, games room, main dining room, and an outside hot tub on the deck overlooking the river. You can also stay in their two and three bedroom rustic log cabins, equipped with wood stoves. You are not going to find many, if any, fishing camps in North America with this rich of history. Fish where others have fished since the 1800s by fishing with Upper Oxbow Outdoor Adventures.
Wilson's Sporting Camps
Wilson's Sporting Camps has been run by the Wilson family for nearly 50 years. The Camps are located in the Miramichi River Valley of New Brunswick. While there is a lot to do when staying at their Camps, their specialty is the opportunities they provide fishermen to target Atlantic Salmon with the fly rod on the Miramichi River. Any salmon fisherman knows the notoriety of the Miramichi as one of the premiere salmon destinations in the Northeast. Wilson’s owns or leases a total of 16 pools, which is a lot in comparison to other outfitters. Also to make sure you aren't dealing with overly crowded waters, Wilson’s fishes just 10 rods a day and rotates them over 16 pools. Salmon are not the only fish that can be targeted while at Wilson's. During the year, they also experience runs of brook trout and shad depending. In additon to the Miramichi, they can arrange day trips to the Cains River in October. So regardless of when you go, Wilson's will put you on fish. Their accommodation packages include All-inclusive with lodging, guide and meals as well as housekeeping with just lodging and guide. You can also contact Wilson's if you are going to be in the area for guide service only.
