Go Fishing Now in Maine

Maine is a northern frontier still underrated for its fishing opportunities.

Maine covers a vast geography with a large variety of fish to target. You can go to Maine for its amazing trout waters. You can fish the southern parts of Maine to target quality largemouth bass. Smallmouth bass are available throughout the State with some fisheries that will rival the best Smallmouth waters in North America. Salmon, Whitefish, Northern Pike, Crappie, and Perch will also be found throughout Maine.

Fishing in Maine is not just a summer activity. There are plenty of guides and lodges that allow you to fish the many hardwater opportunities that exist across the Pine Tree State.

Do you love the idea of smallmouth bass and salmon fishing on a picturesque lake on the United States/Canadian border? If you answered yes, East Grand Lake may be an option for you. East Grand Lake is located in the most northern part of Maine with one shoreline in the United State and the other in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. On the American side of East Grand Lake, you will find Rideout's Lakeside Lodge and Cabins. Staff here at Go Fishing Now have been to Rideout's and can recommend this place to anyone looking for quality fishing at a well run and organized camp. This isn't the fanciest place we have been but very clean and comfortable. They offer both housekeeping and all-inclusive plans on East Grand Lake. The fishing remains solid all year around but outstanding #s of big smallmouth bass can be had if you visit during the spawn. At Go Fishing Now, we believe that fishing beds during the spawn require fishermen to be very conscious of their handling of fish. This is not the time of year for light line, long battles and pictures of every fish. It is critically important to get the fish to the boat and back in the water as quickly as possible. While salmon and smallmouths are the main draw, lake trout, brook trout and white perch fishing can also be part of your trip to East Grand Lake and Rideout's Lakeside Lodge and Cabins.
