Bucket List Trips
Go Fishing Now has hand selected some of the top destinations in North America. These are bucket list trips outside the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern Regions we usually cover. Each location has information about fishing as well as the lodges and guides for that body of water.
In this list, we try to pick locations that can sustain increased fishing pressure from fishing tourism. In other words, we are not about overexposing a small body of water that has amazing fishing. We have witnessed too many once great fishing spots suffer from too much attention and pressure.
Even with the sturdy fisheries listed here, too much fishing pressure can still take its toll. Please always follow regulations for a specific body of water and take the guidance of your host or guides as to what selective harvest and/or catch and release methods are best for the long-term sustainability of the fishery.

Bucket List Trips
Take a visit to Esnagami Lodge's web site and you will be immediately greeted by some gorgeous pics of some really big fish. Our research has shown that this isn't just web site hype, their customers are consistently very happy with their trips. In fact, Esnagami Lodge boasts an 85% repeat customer base. Esnagami Lodge is located on 14 mile long Esnagami Lake in Northwestern Ontario. This is a fly-in only location but has a relatively short floatplane trip from Nakina, Ontario. Esnagami Lodge offers Housekeeping and American Plan options at the resort. An outpost cabin is also an option on the Esnagami River. You can fish for walleye, northern pike, and native brook trout. They have had a strict Catch and Release Trophy Program for over 25 years that has assured the quality of their fishery over the years. Esnagami Lodge should be toward the top of everyone's bucket list who love fishing remote Ontario waters. It is certainly on all of our lists at Go Fishing Now.
Oh Fireside Lodge...Big Sigh...Not sure what it is about you. Maybe its your weekly photos of big smallmouth bass, trophy northern pike and elusive muskie that don't seem so elusive when fishing at your place! Maybe its the amazing reviews I read about you. Maybe its the detailed fishing reports that you have provided for so many years. Maybe its one of a thousand reasons that you have been on my bucket list for a long long time. Ladies and gentlemen from the Northeast, if you haven't checked out Fireside Lodge, do yourself a favor and go visit their site. They are a long drive from most places here in the Northeast but from everything I have heard from folks in our area that have made the trek, it is well worth the trip. I could go on and on about them as I have been a fan for a long time. To get you started, I will tell you that they are road accessible and three and a half hours from the Minnesota border. Fireside is the only resort located on Little Vermilion Lake. They have 10 additional lakes accessed by creeks or portaging. Fireside Lodge follows a catch-and-release program to protect their amazing Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Muskie. Now, go check out Fireside Lodge for yourself. We know you will like what you see.
Fish Orlando Trophy Bass Guide Service
For those of us in the Northeast, the thoughts of 10 pound plus bass are closely associated with Florida. There may not be a hotter fishery in Florida right now than Lake Tohopekaliga or Lake Toho for short. I had the chance to visit Orlando for a conference and researched fishing guides extensively for a day on the water. My final pick was Justen Moore, owner and operator of Fish Orlando Trophy Bass Guide Service. I am sure glad I did. While we didn't have the best weather for our trip, my wife and I felt totally at ease fishing with Justen. We didn't get the elusive 10 pounder but I set my personal best around 7 pounds. My wife's first time fishing was filled with fish after fish in the 3 pound range. Justen gave us detailed instruction and had a lot of patience. Justen offers a "No Fish No Pay" guarantee and was one of the first Orlando guides to do so. He also provides free transportation from Orlando hotels. He fishes a number of different waters other than Lake Toho including Lake Conway, the Butler Chain of Lakes, and Rodman Reservoir. But the Lake Toho fishery is what puts Justen squarely in our Bucket List trips. Disney family vacation, business trip or all fishing, I can't recommend Justen enough for any trip to the Orlando area.
